The Internal interface if Great for some quick stuff or 2 but making that part of your setup is just asking for frustration. That gives you 16 buttons, 8 encoders and 9 sliders.ġ: you go to global and set up ext midi assign cc parameters kronos will transmit to mainstage.Ģ: you switch to ext mode when need to control external and then switch back to internal rt params or any other mode as required.įWIW, I'd Recommend you give up on the Kronos native USB interface and get yourself a basic decent Audio Interface with Enough Inputs (4-6 minimum) and few outputs. What you will need to do is set uo the kronos ext surface for mainstage. It would be great if someone can explain or link basically USB interfacing the Kronos as an audio interface/mixer with MS and VI's If in combi or SEQ mode, I think you can pull in your VI's at the program/timbre level. I recently joined the Apple MainStage Keyboard Programming group on FB to help my learning curve. I just got the Spectrsonics stuff and new to MS.
I am also in that gear mix, Kronos, MS and Omnis 2. Maybe post a video on You Tube with the instructions or point me to something? I've searched through the Kronos manual, with word searches but it's like a needle in a haystack. Then obviously, would like to create a set list where I can switch different patches. Would also like to set up different zones on the keyboard for both instruments. Is it possible to set up a combi with external controls from MainStage, using the sliders for a timbre, along side internal sounds? i would love to use some of Omnisphere's unique pads and arps, and then fade in a piano from the Kronos and play them all together without having to have multiple midi controllers or other external sliders. I have searched the net and can't find much help with this. the Kronos and be able to play all those Omnisphere sounds integrated with the Kronos sounds. I also use Omnisphere through MainStage on another keyboard, but I would love to go to a gig with just one keyboard. I have owned my Kronos for a few months and I really love it. If your instrument folder is smaller than the sizes listed above, and you are not using any custom or third-party patches or sounds, reinstall your instrument from the original installation media (discs, USB drives, downloads, etc.) Locate your instrument folder in STEAM or SAGE folder then compare it against the default sizes here:
If the preview button is not producing sound you'll need to check the size of your STEAM or SAGE folder to see if it's the correct size as below:
If the preview button is producing sound, make sure your midi controller and your DAW are set to send and receive MIDI on MIDI the same channel (example: MIDI channel 1). Check the preview (play) button in the bottom left corner of your Spectrasonics Instrument.
